Not enough has been said, on this blog or elsewhere, about the beauty of Sacramento’s parks and green spaces. They are innumerable, chalked full of red wood shade, and spotted with palms. There are those with elaborate rose and cactus gardens, lily pad ponds, beachy river access, playgrounds and community pools.
I recently photographed the first birthday party of my close friend’s son at McKinley Park. Although there were several birthday parties taking place simultaneously (at one point another birthday boy toddled over, abandoning his own party for ours) there was ample room for everyone. After almost a year since we left New York I still find ‘ample room for everyone’ completely remarkable.
